Lowestoft Vision was founded in August 2013 after businesses in the town voted yes to forming a Business Improvement District (BID). The yes vote meant that businesses agreed to pay an additional 1.5% levy of their rateable value with the funds being ring-fenced for projects in the BID area.
Lowestoft Vision is managed by Suffolk Chamber of Commerce with local businesses forming our management Board to guide projects.
From August 2013 to August 2018 Lowestoft Vision will raise the profile & experience to the BID area of Lowestoft by delivering services with the following aims:
To create a safe and secure environment that encourages customers to enjoy their experience in the town, whilst welcoming new business opportunities.
Our dedicated Police Community Support Officer for the BID area has helped to reduce crime in the BID area. This is also supported by the town Security radio Scheme. For more information on this click here.
We aim to create a clean welcoming environment for our community and visitors.
Since 2013 we have enhanced the retail area of the BID by providing street decorations, floral Displays and festive lights. Working with partners and local businesses we provide services which include the removal of graffiti and additional litter clearance.
Supporting our members and helping to reduce waste costs we offer a free weekly cardboard collection service.
Encourage and look at ways to improve access into and out of the BID area for consumers and Businesses.
Lowestoft Vision have been able to provide a range of free parking schemes in partnership with the local council. In addition we have supported our colleagues at Suffolk Chamber with the business case for Lowestoft’s Third crossing.
Encourage the community and visitors into the BID area by hosting a wide range of events and marketing campaigns that increase footfall and spend to businesses.
Lowestoft Vision will continue to market the town through the Discover Lowestoft brand which we launched in 2015.
To drive footfall to the retail area we will continue to host four main events each year.
