Business Profile - Graphitas

Each month we will be profiling a business in the BID area to find out there views on the town, this month we speak with Justin Taylor, Managing Director at Graphitas.

Graphitas is a creative design and marketing agency, our aim is to deliver exceptional design and web solutions for our clients.

We have a team of ten people who all live within Lowestoft and surrounding areas and we are proud to work with some amazing locally based companies such as Hughes Electrical and Sentinel Leisure. Additionally we work with some incredible national brands such as Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi and Up at the O2.

Why operate in Lowestoft

There are two main reasons for operating in Lowestoft, first and foremost our team are all local to the area so Lowestoft was the obvious choice due to its central location, good transport links and accessibility.

The second reason is that most of our business communication is carried out digitally via emails and video conferences, so the need for us be in close proximity to our customer base is diminished, so we chose to grow the business in Lowestoft and have never looked back!

Why you support the BID

The main reason I chose to support the BID is that Graphitas are a team of local people and the core objectives of the BID really resonated with us.

Its no secret that Lowestoft has its challenges, as do many other towns, but we were inspired sby the objectives of the BID and that Lowestoft Vision were prepared to tackle issues head on and encourage people back to the town centre and restoring civic pride back into
the town.

Your thoughts on Lowestoft Vision Projects

In the short time that the BID has been in operation, I have been impressed at the number of positive contributions Lowestoft Vision has made to the town. A few things that spring to mind are the turtle trail, the success of the pancake race and of course the summer festival (especially the street velodrome!) .

However, the one thing that defines the positive impact of Lowestoft Vision for me is the funding of a PCSO for the BID area. It is no coincidence that since the introduction of PCSO Mike Soanes the anti social behaviour we had all become accustomed to has all but disappeared and as a result the town centre is a much friendlier and safer environment.

Why did you want to be part of Discover Lowestoft Brand

Discover Lowestoft in my opinion is a fantastic initiative, I think as locals we often forget the breadth and depth of things the town has to offer. We have one of the best beaches in the country, a vibrant town centre, the best leisure centre in the area, a theme park, unique places to visit plus a host of family days out.

I'm convinced that Discover Lowestoft will continue to change perceptions of the town and help everyone realise what Lowestoft has to offer locals and visitors to the area.
