Lowestoft Vision will shortly be launching a new brand for the town "Discover Lowestoft". The brand has been under development for the past 6 months and has been designed to highlight Lowestoft as place to shop, stay, eat, play and develop business.
The project started with members of the Lowestoft Vision management group looking at how the town was promoted and how members of the public found out about activity in the town. From this group were able to develop a clear objectives before sending out a proposal to tender.
Local marketing agency Graphitas were successful in winning the contract to come up with the new brand. Working with Lowestoft Vision they discussed a number of ideas on how best to portray and raise the profile of the town.
To complement the brand there will be a new destination website and all Lowestoft Vision BID members will receive a free listing on the site. The free listing will include a detailed description of the business, its location and an opportunity to post images and special offers.
Currently there is no destination website for the town or a place for the local community to find out about events, offers, services and attractions. www.discoverlowestoft.co.uk will fill this void and become a portal for visitors and the community.
The website will be broken down into the key themes of Things to do, shopping, eating & drinking, events, places to stay and business. In addition the site will also provide information on the seafront, Broads, parks and gardens, heritage and general information about the town.
Darren Newman Lowestoft Vision BID manager said "We are very excited about the launch of discover which will enable us to promote the wonderful range of services on offer in our town".
"The new website enables BID members to add details of their products, services and promote special offers to the community and Visitors giving them additional value to their BID membership".
Non BID members and those outside the BID area will also be able to add business details to the website for a small charge.
Lowestoft Vision will are currently contacting BID levy payers to add business details along with adding information about town attractions and events.
